Job summary

Fox Valley Orthopedic seeks a Medical Assistant or Athletic Trainer to work across Elgin, Geneva, and Yorkville clinics, providing safe musculoskeletal care and coordinating with clinical teams.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2+ years MA experience, and CPR certification; CMA, ATC, ABR-OE, or RMA credentials are preferred. Travel to multiple sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) plus years of relevant medical assistant work experience.
• CPR/AED certification preferred.
• CMA or ATC certification preferred.
• ABR-OE program completion is a plus.
• RMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history.
• Prepare patient for examination with preliminary physical tests (BP, weight, temp).
• Prepare equipment, injections, educational materials during treatment and examination.
• Perform patient care including cast/splint applications, wound care, injections, braces, sutures.
• Communicate with patients and families regarding processes and procedures.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Maintain supplies and patient records.
• Scribe for providers.

IF this sounds like the type of team and environment you want to be a part of apply today!Position SummaryA Medical Assistant (MA) Or Athletic Trainer (ATC) works collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical teams focusing on providing safe and effective care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.Locations: Elgin, Geneva, and Yorkville, Illinois (must be willing to travel to multiple site locations)Status: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) -Days/Hours: Varying days/hours, may include evenings and a rotating SaturdaysPay Range (depending on experience): MA from $18.00/hour; CMA from $20.00/hour; ATC from $25.00/hourEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Verify patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history.Prepare patient for examination by performing preliminary physical tests including taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature. Responsible to ensure information is accurately documented.Prepare equipment, injections, educational materials, etc. during treatment and examination of patients.Perform patient care including cast application/removal, splinting, post-op wound care, injections, fitting patients for braces and suture and staple removal.Communicate with patients and families regarding processes and procedures.Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.Maintain adequate supplies in examination rooms.Maintain accurate and complete patient records.Attend departmental meetings as required.Scribe for providers.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education and/or ExperienceRequired:High school diploma or equivalent.Two (2) plus years of relevant medical assistant work experience.Knowledge of medical office procedures and the ability to interact with patients, physicians and co-workers.Preferred:CPR/AED Certification.Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC).Completed Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) program.Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists.Spanish Speaking.Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment TB and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment TB and drug screen, background check, and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
