Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; MA program preferred.
• MA certification preferred; BLS certification required.
• 2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in the waiting area in a courteous, professional manner and escorts patients to discharge counter.
• Obtains patient history, triage, records vitals and updates patient chart.
• Explains treatment procedures and prepares exam room for examination by provider.
• Positions instruments and assists provider; cleans and sterilizes equipment after use.
• Administers injections, meds, eye/ear care, dressings and collects specimens as directed.
• Performs diagnostic tests and CLIA-waived lab tests as required.
• Keeps pathology specimens properly labeled and prepared for lab shipment.
• Assists with registration and front-office duties as needed.
• Maintains medical supplies inventory and ensures equipment is in good working order.
