MedStar Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Washington Hospital Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will perform a range of clinical, billing, and clerical services under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Responsibilities include greeting and preparing patients, maintaining examination areas, screening calls, scheduling, and patient flow coordination. You will also perform phlebotomy and electrocardiography as needed.

Primary Duties
  • Screen and route telephone calls, provide information, schedule appointments, and obtain diagnostic test results.
  • Greet and assist patients, register them, verify insurance, accept payments, and maintain records and logs.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, collect specimens, assist in procedures, and administer medications and immunizations as directed.
  • Maintain charts and supplies, manage billing, and ensure equipment functionality.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and basic computer skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Medical Assistant certification or registration preferred.

This position offers a salary range of $23.123 - $35.291.
