The role you’ll contribute: The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients and follows AdventHealth service standards. Responsibilities include greeting patients, obtaining clinical, financial, and demographic information, assisting providers during treatment and examinations, and assisting with procedures and medication administration as ordered. Performs office duties such as verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling appointments.

• Ensure practice flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment

Qualifications:

• 1 year of practical medical assisting experience and certification, or a graduate of a medical assistant program
• Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:
• American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
• American Medical Technologists (“AMT”) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) for NRCMA
• National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) for NCMA
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA) for CCMA
