Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Group is seeking an MA II to support patient care under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. The role expands on the MA I duties and requires competence in clinic-specific clinical tasks.

You will work within established policies and regulations at our Issaquah site, contributing to high-quality patient care. Ideal candidates will hold WA MA certification upon hire, complete BLS within 30 days, and have 6+ months healthcare and MA experience or equivalent

Qualifications

• Washington Medical Assistant Certification required upon hire.
• Within 30 days: American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum 6 months healthcare experience.
• Minimum 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
• Graduate of accredited MA program or MA apprenticeship or two years of medical training in US armed forces.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed practitioner to provide patient care as directed.
• Perform MA I duties and full clinical responsibilities for assigned clinic.
• Adhere to established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. An MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or
• Coursework/Training: Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or
• Coursework/Training: Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or
• Coursework/Training: Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 6 months Healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification.
