Join UPMC as a Medical Assistant in Washington, PA

Are you a Medical Assistant passionate about patient care and seeking a career with growth opportunities? UPMC is looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join their Washington OB/GYN team. This role involves supporting staffing needs at off-site offices in McMurray, California, and Waynesburg, with travel as needed.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, primarily daylight hours, with occasional evening shifts from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. No weekends or holidays required. The position involves both front and back office duties. Prior Medical Assistant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Obtaining reports, completing forms, scheduling, verifying insurance, and managing patient charts.
  • Preparing exam rooms, maintaining cleanliness, and managing supplies.
  • Organizing patient flow, assisting with patient transfers, collecting specimens, and performing screenings.
  • Answering calls, providing patient education, performing phlebotomy, EKGs, and assisting with procedures.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Administering injectable medications and vaccines under supervision.
