Job Description Summary

Job Description: Schedule consists of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday with one Saturday per month, $23 per hour plus healthcare benefits. On a daily basis, provides clinical and technical support for primary care providers. Implements all planned care items using electronic tools to ensure efficient and accurate workflow. Monitors equipment and performs clinical testing according to OSHA and CLIA standards. Liaises with patients, families, specialists, and all members of the health care team. With the primary care nurse and provider, ensures continuity and coordination of care in a patient-centered medical home.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Apply evidence-based guidelines from major regulatory and specialty groups, perform pre-visit preparation for all primary care patients scheduled to be seen.
  • In collaboration with the primary care nurse and provider, conduct "e-huddles" utilizing the Planned Care Dashboard to ensure complete and thorough primary care visits.
  • Prepare patients for telehealth visits, including guiding on video technology use.
  • Manage virtual telehealth sessions for multiple providers using Zoom, including setup of virtual exam rooms, admitting patients, and pre-visit prep.
  • Support clinical teams with paperwork, record requests, scheduling follow-ups, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate to facilitate appropriate telehealth patient flow.
  • Prepare patients for provider visits based on visit type.
  • Document chief complaints and screening test results accurately.
  • Perform and document vital signs and appropriate CLIA waived tests, EKG, hearing & vision tests.
  • Prioritize daily responsibilities, reduce waiting times, and assist team members as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment, oversee supply maintenance, and document in logs.
  • Set up and stock exam rooms, and clean at day's end.
  • Follow infection control standards, safety policies, and maintain CPR certification.
  • Provide excellent customer service, focusing on quality of care and teamwork.
  • Complete mandated in-service training.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant course
  • Medical Assistant certification/registration
  • Skills in EKG, appointment scheduling, word processing, and medical testing procedures
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Team-oriented with leadership qualities
  • Current CPR/AED certification (American Red Cross or AHA)
