At Banner Brain & Spine, you’ll find programs dedicated to sleep and movement disorders, spine, headaches and head injury, stroke, and neuromuscular diseases. We also offer care options such as pain management, neuropsychology treatments, and clinical trials.
As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will be an integral part of the patient's Banner experience, providing excellent customer service and patient care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and updating electronic medical records. You may also support office/administrative staff with tasks like answering phones, scheduling, and stocking supplies.
Uncertified Medical Assistants will be considered and will have 12 months to become certified after employment begins. Banner provides study materials and will pay for certification costs. Certification can lead to a pay increase. Banner supports further education and career advancement opportunities, from PTR to RN.
The schedule is Monday-Friday, with shifts at 7:30 am-4:00 pm, 8:00 am-4:30 pm, or 8:30 am-5:00 pm. The team strives to deliver high-quality care for Neurology patients, emphasizing customer service, computer proficiency, and medical terminology knowledge.
University Medical Center Phoenix is a nationally recognized academic medical center with over 730 beds, offering specialized programs and research collaborations with the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.
Position Summary: Assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, implementing and evaluating direct patient care, and ensuring an excellent patient experience.
Core Functions include:
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED, completion of an approved medical assistant training program, active Medical Assistant Certification, BLS certification, computer skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage priorities.
Additional requirements for certain facilities include Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Cards.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with medical procedures, insurance, EMR, and scheduling software.
