Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support in our Neurology practice in Hartford, CT. You will room patients, take vital signs, document in the EHR, and assist with procedures while collaborating with care teams to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months of related experience, and preferably an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance; CMA certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of related work experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance preferred; CMA certification a plus.

Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:You will provide clinical support for the Neurology practice, stepping in to assist where coverage is needed most. Responsibilities includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, administering medications, assisting with procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Adapts quickly to different workflows and collaborates with a wide range of care teams to ensure smooth, high-quality patient experiences. Ideal for someone who is adaptable, organized, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment.

What you will do:

• Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
• Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs.
• Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients’ chart after they have been reviewed by the physician.
• Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required
• Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred, National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plus
