Job summary

Swope Health Services is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our West Clinic team. You will prepare patients for examinations, take vitals, collect history, and assist a provider during visits, while entering data into the EHR.

Under supervision you will perform general medical services including medication administration and diagnostic procedures, and you will need to travel to all Swope Satellite Clinics as needed. Vaccination and BLS are required or obtainable within a few months.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Certified by NRCMA, RMA, CMA, NCMA or CCMA; if not certified, 2 years of experience may substitute.
  • Vaccination for COVID-19 or approved exemption.
  • BLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Willing to travel to all Swope Satellite Clinics.

Job description

As a Medical Assistant for Swope Health Services in our West Clinic, you will be part of a team of caregivers to provide care for the people who need it most. As a Medical Assistant, you are responsible for receiving and preparing patients for medical examination and treatment.

This includes taking vital signs, and medical and social history, assisting the provider with the examination and treatment, and entering clinical data into the electronic health record.

Under the general supervision of a medical provider, you will perform general medical services such as medication administration, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You are a critical part of the patient-centered medical team to provide quality, accessible, and safe patient-centered care.

- Central Family Medicine
- Wyandotte (12th Street KCK)

Successful Candidates will have:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Graduated from an accredited medical assistant program.
    • Certified by one of the following:
      • NRCMA
      • RMA
      • CMA
      • NCMA
      • CCMA
    • IF not certified by one of the above, 2 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital may be initially substituted for certification. You may be asked to become certified as a future requirement of employment.
  • If not graduated from an accredited medical assistant program, then 5 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital may be initially substituted for certification. You will be asked to complete courses and become certified as a future requirement of employment.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certified, or able to be obtained within 3 months of hire
  • Must exhibit the ability to work with people (staff, visitors, and clients).
  • Willing to travel to all Swope Satellite Clinics and temporary testing sites if needed.

Associates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or obtain an approved exemption for vaccination accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
