Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort patient to exam room and document medical history.
  • Assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits.
  • Deliver high-quality patient experience through excellent customer service and communication.
  • Assist physician or advanced practice provider in exams and procedures under supervision.
  • Prepare and handle laboratory specimens, injections, and venipuncture as allowed by state regulations.
  • Communicate instructions to patients and ensure understanding.
  • Schedule tests, treatments, and follow-ups; relay test results to patients.
  • Maintain exam rooms; stock supplies; prepare sterilization as required.
  • Triage calls, referrals and appointments; manage messages and records.

Job description

The Medical Assistant will support physicians and clinical staff in providing specialized patient care by performing both clinical and administrative duties specific to the practice’s area of focus. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. The Medical Assistant's primary responsibilities may vary based on state regulations.

  • Greet and escort patient to exam room, prepare patient for visits by obtaining medical history, current medications, allergies, and chief complaints and document all information in patient medical record.
  • Assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits.
  • Support delivery of high-quality patient experience through excellent customer service and communication with patients, families and other care providers while ensuring a safe patient care environment.
  • Provide assistance to physician and/or advanced practice provider in preparing and conducting medical exams and office procedures under direct guidance and supervision of physician and advance practice provider. .
  • Perform applicable medical procedures collect, and prepare laboratory specimens, administer injections/immunizations, and perform venipuncture, as allowed by state regulations.
  • Communicate information and instructions to patients as directed by physician, advanced practice provider, or nursing staff and ensure patient’s understanding of the information.
  • Assist with scheduling of tests, treatments, and follow-up appointments, and communicate test results to patients.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
  • Respond to calls and requests for referrals and appointments, triage and process messages, and requests from patients, clinic staff, referring physicians and pharmacies. Maintains patient files, records, and other information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Diploma from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred or as required by State
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred

Pay Range (Base Pay): $21.11 - $33.79 per hour.

Starting Pay Range (Base Pay): $22.00 - $31.00 per hour.

Regular Full-time Is Classified As Team Members Who Are Consistently Scheduled And Work 30 Hours Or More On a Weekly Basis. Regular Full-time Team Members Are Eligible For The Following

NOTE: A team member who is at least 21 years old and is an active full-time or part-time employee is eligible to participate in our 401(k) Plan at the time of hire and contributions will begin as soon as administratively possible.

Paid Time Off

All regular full-time team members are eligible for PTO that may be used for time away from work. Team members hired before the 15th of the month accrue PTO the first month of employment; however, team members hired on or after the 16th of the month begin accruing PTO the month following date of hire.

  • Less than four years of service 12 hours accrued per month (up to 18 days/yr.)
  • Four years but less than eight years of service 15.33 hours accrued per month (up to 23 days/yr)
  • Eight years of service and up 18.66 hours accrued per month (up to 28 days/yr)
Paid Holidays

The Company observes the following Holidays: New Year’s Day; Memorial Day; Juneteenth; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Friday after Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Eve; Christmas Day; and 1 Floating Holiday.

NOTE: The paid holidays above are offered to regular full-time team members upon employment. Full-time team members who work fewer than 40 hours per week will receive holiday pay on a pro-rated basis.
