Job summary

United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Medical Assistant for MedPointe. The role provides basic nursing support and assists physicians and nursing staff.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting with exams, scheduling referrals, patient education, maintaining logs, and handling administrative tasks. 40 hours weekly, Day shift, Non-Exempt status.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program OR one year of clinical experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of healthcare education coursework is preferred.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms; obtain initial information and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and supplies.
• Assist with and/or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedule appointments and manage referral contacts as needed.
• Assist provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educate patients on follow up expectations.
• Maintain quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assist patients with completion of medical documentation.
• Assist with office administrative tasks including phones, messages, data entry, and deposits.
