Job summary

Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Medicine Suite in Hershey, PA. This full-time, on-site role supports clinical and administrative tasks, with day shifts and rotating hours.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, CMA or RMA certification within 90 days, and BLS certification (or obtained within 6 months). Prior outpatient experience is preferred and training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain CMA or RMA certification within 90 days or have CMA/RMA active.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 6 months.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• Previous outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with health care services and specimen collection.
• Conduct routine lab studies of specimens.
• Coordinate patient flow and scheduling, and manage phone messages.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, for obtaining specimens, for conducting routine lab studies of specimens, and for assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments and phone messages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• High School diploma or equivalent required.

• Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program

• Previous outpatient experience preferred.
