Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to support our Pulmonary group across multiple sites in Bannockburn, Evanston, Skokie, Glenview, and Chicago. The role involves greeting patients, taking vital signs, documenting medical information, and assisting with front office duties.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy and injections where allowed by site, with on‑the‑job training provided for those without prior MA experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assisting program graduate preferred.
• Certification: CPR-BLS required; MA certifications (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) preferred but not required.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a medical office preferred; on‑the‑job training available.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms.
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for visit.
• Record vitals such as BP, height, weight; assist with basic measurements.
• Provide front office support as needed; phlebotomy and injections as applicable by site.
