Make a Difference

The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare providers at an ambulatory health care site with patient visits, procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and ensuring quality outcomes for the practice's patient population. As an MA, you will also participate in Network quality initiatives focused on best practices.

Skills and Qualifications

• Graduate or certificate from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED plus one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
• Efficiently room patients and manage provider’s caseload flow.
• Obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, and collect specimens as needed.
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
