Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients respectfully.
  • Prepare and review patient charts, verifying all diagnostic tests, hospital reports, and medical records are accurate and current.
  • Measure vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Perform clerical duties including checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Medical assisting certification from an approved organization within 12 months of employment (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, NCCT). If uncertified, assessment-based recognition in order entry is acceptable (except in South Carolina).
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required at hire for some locations; preferred or required prior to independent patient care at others.
  • Experience: 1 year in healthcare (preferred), 2 years clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred).
