Medical Assistant MA Windsor Family Practice

Job Overview

Location: Banner Health Clinic Windsor, 1300 Main Street, Windsor, CO 80550

Schedule: Monday-Friday with one day off during the week, 4 days a week with 10 hour shifts. Will work 8 Saturday shifts per year from 8am-12pm.

Salary Range: $21.01 - $31.51 / hour, based on education & experience

Sign-On Bonus: $1000 - 1 Year Commitment Required!

Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.

Core Functions
  1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms, and other necessary measurements; documents pain scores as appropriate.
  2. Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures, including taking patients’ blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation, and EKGs.
  3. Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of patients.
  4. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation including complete medical records.
  5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment and exam rooms.
  6. Orders supplies as directed and stocks patient care areas.
  7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanisms with all external and internal customers.
  8. This position will complete all necessary onboarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
  9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers and interacts with various staff and departments.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  2. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
  3. Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
  4. BLS certification required.
  5. Strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software.
  6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with office medical procedures and knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software.
  2. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
