Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care at our Moorestown location. The responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, obtaining vital signs, performing phlebotomy, vaccines, and basic diagnostic tests under physician supervision.

You will also assist with front-desk duties and patient communications. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of medical office experience, is a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and maintains current BLS

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of similar medical office experience preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by taking vital signs and chief complaints, and prepping exam room.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection; administers vaccines and documentations.
• Performs tests such as EKG and pulmonary function as directed by physician.
• Screens and directs patient calls per protocol; communicates prescriptions and test results to patients.
• Performs regulatory testing on clinical equipment and maintains supplies.
• Performs front desk duties including registration, scheduling, and basic billing.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, and chief complaint, and preparing patient for provider exam. Prepares exam room as required based on chief complaint.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains specimens for processing. Administers vaccines and completes required documentation. Performs diagnostic tests such as EKG, Pulmonary Function, etc. as directed and under the supervision of the physician.
• Screens and directs patient calls according to established protocol. Contacts patients regarding prescriptions and testing results as directed by and under the supervision of the physician.
• Performs daily regulatory testing as required and documents accordingly, to ensure that clinical equipment is accurate and compliant.
• Maintains par level of clinical supplies for facility.
• Performs front desk duties as directed which may include registering patients, billing, and appointment scheduling.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

1-3 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.

Required Education:

HS diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

Current certification/registration as a Medical Assistant.

BLS Certification required.

Hourly Rate:

$19.54 - $29.20
