Sign-On Bonus:
$4,000 for Medical Assistants (MAs) with 0-0.99 years of experience
$5,000 for MAs with 1+ years of experience

*Current MaineHealth employees are not eligible. Must be separated from MaineHealth for at least 6 months.*

Summary:

The Medical Assistant I role involves duties related to patient care and administrative support within a team-based environment, ensuring a smooth patient flow. The Medical Assistant I operates under the license of a physician or advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and patient care responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following:
  • Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience,
  • Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience,
  • Or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience evaluated case-by-case).
  • License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. For positions in New Hampshire, NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required.
  • Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
