Utica Park Clinic in Owasso, OK is hiring a full-time Urgent Care Medical Assistant. You will support physicians and APs in a fast-paced clinic, handling patient intake, vital signs, EMR data entry, and exam room preparation.

Required is a high school diploma and EMR/Microsoft Office familiarity; BLS within 14 days of hire. Preferred are CMA/RMA certification and an associate degree. Join a team that prioritizes patient care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited MA program or two years MA experience preferred.
• Current CMA or RMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports patient medical history and data in EMR.
• Greets patients, escort to exam room, and records vital signs.
• Sterilizes and prepares instruments; ensures rooms are clean and ready for patients.
• Maintains inventory and stocks supplies for all exam rooms.
• Manages referrals and insurance authorizations as needed.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant:

The Medical Assistant provides superior patient care and performs administrative and delegated clinical tasks that support patients in a clinic-based environment as part of a care team led by the physician and/or advanced practice provider.

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Patients visit support that may include Greeting patients, and escorting patient to exam room and/or taking patients’ vital signs, and other applicable medical information to effectively support the reason for the patients visit and recommended treatment.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments. Ensures patient exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for incoming patients. Provides patients with privacy, comfort, safety and hygiene.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, instruments and equipment for all exam rooms.
• Maintains appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.
• Addresses and requests referrals and other insurance authorizations in addition to passing along patient information for prescription, x-ray or lab requisitions to necessary parties. This includes calls to pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program or two years of MA experience.
• Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
