Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant III to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, and help create a positive healthcare experience.

Responsibilities include guiding MA colleagues as a preceptor, updating workflows, collecting patient histories, vital signs, exams, testing, and documenting health information, as well as coordinating care and communicating

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a credentialed MA in a clinical setting.
• Current MA credentialing through CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or CMAC.
• Maintains MA certification CEUs as required.

• Serve as MA preceptor for new and existing MAs.
• Update procedure manuals and manage workflows.
• Function as system superuser for clinical tools.
• Document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.

• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support outcomes.
• Coordinate care and act as liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management.

What You'll Do:

• Assists provider with more complex patient care issues.
• Successfully serves as MA preceptor for new and existing MA's
• Updates procedure manual and creates and manages workflows
• Funtions as system superuser
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

General Requirements:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: Valid CPR certification.

• MA program and MA Externship;
• MA Internship;
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
• Paramedic program; or
• Certified Athletic Trainer.

If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE:

MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

3+ years’ experience working as a credentialed MA with skills/education required from MA II role.
