Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant III to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience.

You will mentor other MAs, update workflows, collect histories and vitals, assist with exams and testing, administer medications as directed, and educate patients and families to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with valid CPR certification.
• Credential must include MA certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA or CMAC).
• Minimum 3+ years of credentialed MA experience in similar role.

Responsibilities

• Updates procedure manual and creates and manages workflows
• Funtions as system superuser
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

General Requirements:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: Valid CPR certification.

• MA program and MA Externship;
• MA Internship;
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;
• Paramedic program; or
• Certified Athletic Trainer.

If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE:

MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3+ years' experience working as a credentialed MA with skills/education required from MA II role.
