Job summary

Samaritan Albany General Hospital in Albany, OR, seeks a Medical Assistant to assist practitioners in procedures, handle telephone prescriptions and refills, and maintain patient records.

You will relay test results and support the Primary Care team in a fast-paced family medicine setting. A high school diploma and MA certification are required; lab/EKG experience is preferred; starting bonus or relocation assistance may be available.

Shift: Day, on-site, with 80 hrs per pay period.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Assists practitioner in performance of procedures, telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records and relaying test results.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Primary Care teams at Samaritan Health Services offer complete health care for all family members from newborns to seniors through their pediatric, family medicine and internal medicine providers. They encourage and offer preventive care, including annual exams, health screenings and counseling regarding health and lifestyle.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required.

Previous medical back office experience/medical assistant training, or completion of a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant program preferred.

Experience in applicable specialty area preferred.

Lab/EKG experience preferred.
