Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is hiring a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in outpatient locations. The role involves rooming patients, recording vitals, taking histories, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with procedures.

Candidates with a Medical Assistant Certification are preferred; options include a MA program diploma, or 1 year of related experience. Tuition reimbursement is available to help pursue certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus one of the listed options.
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
• Preference: Medical Assistant Certification.
• Tuition reimbursement program available.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
• Assist with examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum, and perform routine laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

Purpose:

The Medical Assistantrolesassistwith direct patient care, andperformsspecialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated byestablishedclinical protocol.Assistmedical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.

• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
• Military Medic training OR
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Preferences:

• Medical Assistant Certification

Pay Range

USD $18.20 - USD $29.33 /Hr.
