Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative outpatient team. The role supports direct patient care, rooming patients, taking vital signs, and assisting physicians and nurses with exams and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or higher.
• Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent training.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) or Military Medic background is a plus.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
• Assist with examinations, carry out treatments and special tests as ordered.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.

Responsibilities

Purpose:

The Medical Assistantrolesassistwith direct patient care, andperformsspecialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated byestablishedclinical protocol.Assistmedical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
• Military Medic training OR
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Preferences:

• Medical Assistant Certification

Pay Range
