Position Summary

The Medical Assistant at the Walk-In Care | MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital is responsible for patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment, ensuring a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant I performs clinical and patient care duties under the supervision of a licensed provider.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following:
    • Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience, or
    • Completed an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience, or
    • One year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience evaluated case-by-case).
  2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification required within 3 months of hire. NH Med Tech License required for positions in New Hampshire.
  3. Experience: Relevant Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements: N/A
