Job description

This is a combined posting for the positions of Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Senior Medical Assistant. The requirements for each role are listed below under each respective title. Consideration for each role will be based on qualifications. The Medical Assistant (MA) I works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met through both administrative and clinical duties. An MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

The Medical Assistant (MA) III works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA III is capable of performing all aspects of the MA I and MA II roles. Additionally, the MA III proactively takes initiative and serves as an informal leader with additional responsibilities related to the clinic/location. MA III serves as an ambassador, change agent, quality champion, and mentor/resource to Medical Assistants by providing support, guidance, and training as needed.

Associate Medical Assistant

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with an externship (Applied learning) or
  • Coursework/Training: Completed medical training in the United States Armed Forces or
  • Coursework/Training: Worked as a Medical Assistant in a clinic environment for at least six months or
  • 6 months prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • 6 months prior experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Associate Medical Assistant Salary Range:
Torrance, CA
Min: $23.00, Max: $30.54

Medical Assistant

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 6 months healthcare experience
  • 6 months Medical Assistant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with an externship (Applied learning) or
  • Coursework/Training: Completed medical training in the United States Armed Forces or
  • Coursework/Training: Worked as a Medical Assistant in a clinic environment for at least six months or
  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification

Medical Assistant Salary Range:
Torrance, CA
Min: $23.00, Max: $33.11

Senior Medical Assistant

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 2 years Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
  • 2 years experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with an externship (Applied learning) or
  • Coursework/Training: Completed medical training in the United States Armed Forces or
  • Coursework/Training: Worked as a Medical Assistant in a clinic environment for at least six months or
  • Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification

Senior Medical Assistant Salary Range:
Torrance, CA
Min: $23.00, Max: $35.41
