Medical Assistant (MA) Fertility Clinic at West Allis

Qualifications

Actual compensation offered in the pay range of $21.05 - $31.55 for an MA, based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, training, and internal equity. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • 401(k) contributions: 3% of your eligible annual salary and a 401(k) employer match of dollar for dollar up to 3%
  • Opportunity for yearly merit increases within the salary range
Major Responsibilities
  • Prepare and room patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering health information; monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures.
  • Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
  • Assist physicians with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
  • Administer routine medications under physician orders or protocols.
  • Follow through with procedure requests, care algorithms, appointments, and referrals; communicate with team members and patients effectively.
  • Perform clinical support tasks such as suture removal, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor, and prescription refills under supervision.
  • Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth, development, and patient needs.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, obtained within 45 days if not already certified.
Education Required
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable MA experience within the last 5 years.
Experience Required
  • Preferred: 2+ years of MA experience; phlebotomy experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Perform routine and complex technical skills within scope after competency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, EMR systems, and electronic communication.
  • Customer service skills to support positive patient experiences.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach overhead.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds; use patient handling equipment for heavier lifts with assistance.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills.
  • Exposure to hazards such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids; wear protective gear as needed.
  • Operate necessary equipment for the role.
