Job description

Overview

Provides support with the daily activities of a medical office by performing the following duties and other duties as assigned.

  • Medical Assistant, MA
  • Walworth Hospital and Medical Center, Lake Geneva WI
  • 72 Hours/2 Weeks
  • Day Shift
Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Rooms patients, collects assessment data, and prepares patients according to specific needs.
  • Assists in examinations, treatments, and other clinic procedures.
  • Assists with laboratory procedures, screening tests, and QI projects.
  • Answers calls, responds to inquiries, directs callers, or initiates triage slips for medical response.
  • Schedules appointments and enters data into the computerized scheduler.
  • Conducts reminder calls to patients.
  • Greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors.
  • Verifies and updates patient records and charts.
  • Coordinates referrals with insurance and other physician offices.
  • Collects payments and issues receipts.
  • Prepares and maintains patient charts.
  • Maintains and orders supplies.
Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program by ABHES, CAAHEP, or similar, or equivalent educational background. Experience in clinical rotations preferred.

Certification/Licensure

CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days. Medication injection training and pharmacology competency required.

Physical Demands

The position requires manual dexterity, ability to lift and transfer patients, and frequent standing, walking, and handling. Visual and physical strength requirements are detailed to ensure clarity.
