Job summary

Marquette General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) for Occupational Medicine. Join a team dedicated to delivering compassionate care and supporting providers with patient assessments, specimen collection, and administrative duties.

The ideal candidate holds an RMA license, a high school diploma or equivalent, plus BLS-HCP certification. One year of clinic experience is preferred, and you will work under physicians and nurses in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • RMA license and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.
  • Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS-HCP) is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient assessments and treatments under physician or nurse supervision.
  • Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitor changes in patient condition and communicate them.
  • Document patient care provided and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain examination areas, equipment, and supplies; reorder and stock as needed.
  • Handle administrative tasks: filing, scheduling, data entry, patient registration.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and teammates.

How You'll Contribute

A MA who excels in this role:

  • Under the supervision of physicians or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
  • Monitors and communication changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Exhibits exceptional customer service with patients and teammates.

What We're Looking For

Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) license required and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Minimum Work Experience: One-year related experience, preferred. One year clinic experience, preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HSP)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
