Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks across our busy practice network. You will take vitals, conduct point-of-care testing, prepare charts, schedule referrals, and assist providers during procedures, with opportunities to grow through our MA career ladder.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited Medical Assistant diploma (or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic credential), maintains BLS, and has EPIC EMR experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic credential
• BLS certification (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire/transfer date
• Credentials to be maintained throughout employment

Job Description

Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role. Clinical/Administrative duties included but not limited to:

• vitals, outside medication reconciliation, outside allergy reconciliation, screenings, patient history and virtual health.
• Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
• Assists providers with in-house procedures as needed
• Provides administrative support including but not limited to scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations and transportation facilitation.
• Floats to other offices based on business needs.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Experience

• In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
• Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
