Job Description: Medical Assistant II

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school with coursework/training including hands-on clinical training in a medical assisting program
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant, including clinical skills such as obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification (upon hire)
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire)
• Six months of healthcare experience
• Six months of medical assistant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• National Medical Assistant Certification (upon hire)
