Position Summary

The medical assistant acts as a patient care coordinator and advocate, maintains clinical supplies, proper documentation, and an optimal patient flow and experience, following OSHA/WISHA and other compliance and regulatory guidelines.

Location: Puget Sound ENT - Edmonds clinic (must be open to traveling to the Seattle site 1-4x per month)

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing direct patient care, including arranging exam room instruments, maintaining supplies, sterilizing instruments, positioning patients, collecting lab specimens, obtaining vitals, patient history, and other related duties.
  • Assist provider during procedures, preparing exam and procedural areas using aseptic technique, and positioning patients as needed.
  • Handle instruments, report test results, chart encounters, and maintain documentation.
  • Perform phone triage, post-op calls, respond to voicemails within 24 hours, and coordinate care with other facilities.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, support team duties, and perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Current Washington State Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a medical office preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medications.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, data entry, excellent interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, confidentiality, and effective communication.
  • Ability to work efficiently, reliably, and as part of a team, with adaptability and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and safely.
