Job summary

Reliant Medical Group, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Medical Assistant MA at 4 Brotherton Way, Auburn, MA. The role supports a family practice in a community-based, physician-led setting with a focus on value-based care.

Full-time schedule, 38.75 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates. You will prepare exam rooms, room patients, obtain histories, perform phlebotomy and injections, document in EMR, and assist with procedures.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant diploma, certificate or EMT certification, or 1+ year MA experience.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program or EMT certification.
  • Active BLS CPR certification or within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA/CMAC certification and EMR experience.
  • Experience performing vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment and instruments.
  • Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs.
  • Document patient care using electronic medical record software.
  • Perform phlebotomy, urinalysis and handle patient specimen samples.
  • Administer medications and perform injections/immunizations.
  • Assist providers with minor in-office procedures and point-of-care testing.

This position performs a full range of medical support services while ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment & instruments
  • Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs
  • Document patient care using electronic medical record software
  • Perform phlebotomy, urinalysis and handle patient specimen samples
  • Administer medications and perform injections/immunizations
  • Assist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing

Required Qualifications:
  • Medical Assistant diploma, technical certificate or certification OR 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training OR Current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program OR EMT certification
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) or completed within 90 days of date of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA and CMAC)
  • CPR certification
  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant or EMT
  • Experience with electronic medical record software
  • Experience performing medical back-office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications
  • Proven excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
