Responsibilities & Requirements

Under the supervision of the provider and/or practice manager, the role involves assisting with patient care duties and providing administrative support. Responsibilities include assisting the provider during examinations and treatments, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, recording information, preparing treatment rooms, and performing delegated duties. The position will be cross-trained to improve efficiency and continuity of patient care.

Educational Requirements

• For MA/CMA: Successful attainment and retention of certification/registration (CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA through AMT or ARMA) within 15 months of hire, along with completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
• May be hired with six months of experience as a STNA but cannot administer medication or enter Epic orders until certified as a medical assistant.
• LPN: Graduate of an accredited LPN program with a current Ohio license.

Job Requirements

• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong communication skills, ability to follow directions, patience, and tactfulness.
• Ability to work under time constraints, multitask, and work independently.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience in a medical/physician office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of examination processes, medical procedures, equipment, safety, and EMRs preferred.
