Join to apply for the Medical Assistant/LPN - OBGYN Clinic role at Advocate Health.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and updating health information.
  2. Performing laboratory procedures using aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines.
  3. Assisting physicians with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
  4. Administering routine medications under physician orders or approved protocols.
  5. Managing test requests, referrals, and scheduling, while communicating effectively with team and patients.
  6. Performing clinical support tasks like suture removal, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, Holter, and prescription refills under supervision.
  7. Providing age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles, and assessing patient data accordingly.

Qualifications include:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days, unless exempted.
  • GED or HS diploma; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of relevant experience.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Skills in technical procedures, communication, customer service, and computer proficiency.

Physical requirements include mobility, ability to lift 35 pounds, and exposure to clinical hazards. This role is full-time, entry-level, in the healthcare industry, primarily supporting patient care in a clinical setting.
