Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current/valid CMA certification required or RMA if applicable.
• Medication Aide 40-hour course or cert if applicable.
• May require Specialized training such as NCT.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certified or to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, resp, height, weight, allergies, meds).
• May draw blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Administer medications and/or vaccines as ordered.
• May perform routine tests (EKG).
• Schedule diagnostic testing and follow up for test completion.
• Communicate test results and care plan to patient as directed.
• Maintain sterile instruments and clean, stocked exam rooms.
• Document care plans and exam results in the medical record.
• Escalate non-routine issues to practice manager or providers.
• Ensure safety checks and quality controls are completed.
