Medical Assistant (Leominster) (Per Diem)

Overview

This role is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support in a vascular medical office. The candidate must have availability on Fridays. The role reports to the Office Manager for operational matters and to clinical leadership for clinical matters.

Responsibilities
  1. Room patients, prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record health history.
  2. Provide compassionate patient support and care during office visits.
  3. Assist provider during visits and procedures.
  4. Set up sterile fields, assist with procedures, and perform routine specimen collection and tests.
  5. Stock supplies and sterilize equipment.
  6. Prepare examination rooms and clean instruments.
  7. Assist physician with treatments, procedures, and exams.
  8. Answer office calls, assist with scheduling, and provide 24-hour callback as needed.
  9. Provide coverage until practice closes or last patient leaves, if after hours.
  10. Manage inventory of supplies and ensure exam rooms are stocked.
  11. Complete additional projects as requested.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or GED; certification in medical assisting preferred.
  2. At least 1 year experience in a medical setting, ideally surgical.
  3. BLS Certification.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  5. Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  6. Knowledge of medical practices, administrative processes, and confidentiality.
