Responsibilities
- Oversees daily operations for assigned staff, ensuring efficiency and productivity. Acts as an expert resource, resolves complex customer service issues, and assists with staffing schedules.
- Supports human resources functions, including interviewing, staff development, performance feedback, and employee morale.
- Prepares patients for exams, performs interviews, records vital signs, and updates health information.
- Performs laboratory and clinical procedures following aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, providing emotional support and ensuring smooth clinic flow.
- Instructs patients on procedures, refers questions appropriately, and assists with procedures and surgeries.
- Maintains clinic equipment, performs quality monitoring, and ensures proper sterilization and care of instruments.
- Serves as a preceptor for new staff and students, and contributes to process improvements to enhance patient care and safety.
- Provides age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
Minimum Requirements
- Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NCMA) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days if required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Typically 2 years of experience as a medical assistant, including injections, immunizations, EKG, vital signs, medication administration, aseptic technique, and infection control.
Skills and Abilities

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform fine manipulation, and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and reach frequently.
- Exposure to hazards such as blood and body fluids, requiring protective clothing.
