Dignity Health’s Pacific Central Coast Health Centers (PHC) are seeking a Medical Assistant to keep daily operations running smoothly for patients and the clinical team. You will proactively prepare patient charts and ensure information is up-to-date for patients seen in our facility.

• Basic Life Support - CPR within 90 days.

• Greet patients, vendors and visitors in person and by phone, answer inquiries and provide scheduling information.
• Monitor schedules and patient arrivals, support smooth patient flow across the clinic.
• Assist providers with minor diagnostic procedures, treatments and education as directed.
• Maintain examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
• Label and maintain specimen storage, perform in-house lab testing and phlebotomy when needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

• Greets patients, vendors and visitors, in person and by phone, in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner, responds to inquiries, takes messages, and provides accurate information regarding schedules and services.
• Monitors schedules and patient arrivals, participates in sequencing emergency patients, and provides assistance to coworkers to maintain a smooth and efficient patient flow for entire clinic for maximum productivity.
• Assists the providers with minor diagnostic procedures, treatments and education as directed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures
• Labels and maintains proper storage for specimens and tests. Performs in-house lab testing, delivers on-site results to provider and performs intermittent phlebotomy. Maintains records of lab testing and logbooks

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduate from a Medical Assisting program
• Minimum 2 years Medical Assistant experience
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days

Preferred

• 1-3 years Supervisory/management experience (2 years)., upon hire and
• Experience in a multiple provider medical practice, upon hire and
• Working within surance/billing in a healthcare setting/insurance organization, upon hire and
• Healthcare information systems, such as electronic health record and practice management systems experience, upon hire and
• Phlebotomy Certification, upon hire
