Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in Florence, AZ to support providers in a busy clinic. You will prep patients, take vital signs, assist with exams, and coordinate care with referrals and scheduling.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.
Active Medical Assistant certification required (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA).
BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and documenting chief complaints.
Assist providers with exams and minor procedures and perform phlebotomies and EKGs as needed.
Coordinate care including referrals, pre-certifications, authorizations, and scheduling; communicate test results to patients.
Provide clerical support and maintain complete medical records for billing and coding purposes.
Maintain a clean clinical environment; disinfect equipment and rooms per policy and OSHA guidelines.
Order and stock supplies for patient care areas and manage medication recalls.
Develop effective communication with patients and staff to ensure quality care and service.
Complete onboarding/orientation activities as directed.
Interact with providers, staff, and patients to support clinical workflows and patient status updates.
