Aultman Health Foundation in North Canton, OH is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a full-time day shift (7:00 am–5:00 pm, M/W/H/F). A sign-on bonus of up to $2,400 is available for qualified candidates.

The role supports physicians and APPs, educates patients and families, and coordinates care with the office team. CPR certification and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Refill prescriptions according to office policy.
• Arrange for hospital procedures and tests, including precertification and scheduling.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The primary purpose is to provide clinical support to the physician or advanced practice nurse, provide patient and family education, and work cooperatively with the remainder of the office structure

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

1. 1.Check the physician and/or APN schedules frequently for any add-ons or updates.
2. 2.Review the patient's medical record prior to visit to verify completeness, including having test results available.
3. 3.Room patients in a timely fashion making sure to identify patient and compare date of birth with chart. Obtain vital signs,height, weight, and accurate list of current meds and all pertinent information needed for the physician toassess the patient.
4. 4.May perform EKGs, lab testing, injections and venipuncture under supervision of Physician and/APNaccordingto office policy.
5. 5.Refill prescriptions according to office policy.
6. 6.Accurately arrange for various hospital procedures and tests to be scheduled. This includes precertification, authorizations, physician orders, communicating with the patient, and adding to the physician’s schedule if indicated.
7. 7.Accurately complete medical forms, process and route billing information to appropriate staff. (Example disability forms etc.)
8. 8.Copy and release medical records according to office procedures.
9. 9.Documentation in the medical record shall be accurate, timely and complete.
10. 10.Provides education to the patient and/or family for all testing and medications that are ordered.
11. 11.Return phone calls to patients by the end of the business day.
12. 12.Notify physician immediately of any abnormal lab or testing results.
13. 13.Restock and clean exam rooms after use according to protocol.
14. 14.Uses the EHR to accurately document and inform physicians of patient interactions and may also be required to scribe.
15. 15. Comply with all office policies and procedures.
16. 16.Maintains confidentiality of information obtained in the course of performing duties.

Job Requirements

1. 1. Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting Program.
2. 2. Currently a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
3. 3. Must have current up-to-date CPR training.
4. 4. Completion of all annual requirements including but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA, Safety,Employee Health service standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. 1.Normally, Monday through Fridayas required by patient volume with a lunch break daily. Lunch breaks arecoordinated withotherstaff members for adequate coverage.

3. 3. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.
4. 4. Subject to frequent moving/standing/sitting during working hours.
