Job Description
I. CLASSROOM/LAB INSTRUCTION: (~50% of Responsibilities)
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the medical assisting field and stay current through professional development.
- Plan and deliver effective instruction using appropriate teaching strategies and technology.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and maintain accurate records.
- Contribute to curriculum development and selection of instructional materials.
- Maintain a supportive learning environment for a diverse student population.
II. EXTERNSHIP COURSE MANAGEMENT: (~50% of Responsibilities)
- Supervise externship training in compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local employers for student placement.
- Coordinate and oversee student externships, including site visits and evaluations.
- Collaborate with Career Services to identify quality externship sites and support student employment.
- Manage externship-related documentation and reporting.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in retention activities and special projects as assigned by the Program Director.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, and the community.
- Adhere to College policies and procedures.
Pay Range: $62,000 - $77,000
*Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, and budget.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Allied Health Diploma Program preferred.
- Three (3) years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Recent experience performing EKGs, Blood Draws, and injections strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable expertise in Medical Assisting.
- Ability to mentor a highly diverse student population.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficient in interpersonal oral presentation and excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Campus View, and Canvas (or other Learning Management Systems).
