Job summary

Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Infusion Center. This full-time, day-shift role supports patient care, specimen collection, and coordination of appointments and messages.

You will perform routine lab studies, assist with clinical tasks, and contribute to a welcoming, efficient workflow. A High School diploma and MA program completion are required, with certification within 90 days or credentialed MA status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program; must become certified within 90 days or be a Credentialed MA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 6 months.
• Associates degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with various health care services and specimen collection.
• Conduct routine lab studies of specimens.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling phone messages.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, for obtaining specimens, for conducting routine lab studies of specimens, and for assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments and phone messages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Medical Assistants must become certified within 90 days of hire OR a Credentialed MA (Certified/Registered)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 6 months of employment date

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S)

• Associates Degree or equivalent preferred
• Outpatient experience preferred
