Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO, is hiring an MA III in the Vein Center SGF. The role blends front-office tasks with clinical care, including vital signs, medication review, patient prep, and room setup. Day shift, 7:30am–4:30pm, 40 hours weekly, with patient-focused teamwork in a clinic setting.

Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an MA training program with pharmacology and externship. CMA/AAMA or equivalent certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an MA training program including pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, and medication administration, plus clinical externship.
• Certification/Registration from CoxHealth approved programs: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, or RMA/AAMP.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Data entry in medical records and charting.
• Measure and record vital signs and collect demographic data.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers.
• Clean rooms, restock supplies, and maintain a clinical area.
• Administer medications as directed under supervision.

Clinical duties will include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics or medical information including review of medication list, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment and stocking supplies. This position will involve the administration of medications.Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required effective 9/1/20: Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.Experience: Required: None Preferred: Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people Preferred: Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic settingSkills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
