CoxHealth is seeking an MA III at Southern Hills Family Medicine in Springfield, MO. The role combines administrative tasks with essential clinical duties under supervision, including measuring vital signs, collecting patient information, and preparing for examinations.

The position requires completing an MA program with pharmacology and externship, plus a CoxHealth-approved certification (CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, or RMA/AAMP). Ambulatory clinic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an MA training program that includes pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, and externship.
• Certification or registration from CoxHealth approved programs: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.

Responsibilities

• Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records.
• Measure and record vital signs; collect demographics and medication information; prep patients for exams.
• Administer medications under supervision; clean rooms and stock supplies; maintain equipment.

Clinical duties will include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics or medical information including review of medication list, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment and stocking supplies. This position will involve the administration of medications.Education: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required effective 9/1/20: Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.Experience: Required: None Preferred: Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people Preferred: Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic settingSkills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
