Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Primary Care Medical Assistant to support the Women’s Health Primary Care practice under the supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager. The MA coordinates care, maintains health records, and serves as a communication link between patients and providers, addressing preventive care, chronic conditions, and psychosocial needs.

Preferred candidates will have CMA certification and CPR, experience with Epic, and strong computer and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• One year experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical practice.
• Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• Familiarity with insurance verification and authorizations.
• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
• Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for primary care patients on and off the daily schedule.
• Act as conduit for information between providers and patients.
• Provide advocacy, information, and referral services for medical and psychosocial needs.
