Medical Assistant III (Must be Certified) Orthopaedics - Beachwood (w/ travel to east offices, when needed) - ( 250004JB )

A Brief Overview

This position is responsible for independently performing advanced Medical Assistant duties which may include advanced procedures specific to department, coordination of the work for other Medical Assistants, or performing patient or population based care navigation.

What You Will Do
  • Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
  • Completely independent with all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
  • Assists manager with developing and facilitating process improvement initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (Required) and current Certification

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. (Required proficiency)
  • Able to organize changing work assignments. (Required proficiency)
  • Medical terminology. (Preferred proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Required within 6 Months)
