Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Ferrell Duncan Clinic in Springfield, MO. The LPN will handle administrative tasks such as scheduling and data entry, and perform clinical duties including vitals, intake, medication administration, and patient preparation.

Ideal candidates will hold MO LPN licensure and have outpatient clinic experience; day shift with 40 hours per week and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program.
• Current LPN license active in Missouri.
• Preferred: outpatient/ambulatory clinic experience.

Responsibilities

• The LPN performs administrative duties: answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records.
• Clinical duties include measuring vital signs, collecting demographics and medical information, and reviewing medication lists.
• Prepare patients for examination, clean rooms/equipment, and stock supplies; administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Execute department-directed competencies and collaborate with the care team.

Job Description

The LPN performs administrative duties that include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records. Clinical duties will include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics and medical information including review of medication list, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment and stocking supplies. This position will involve the administration of medications as ordered by the physician. Performs specific competencies as directed by the department.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Carry out delegated tasks as directed by supervisors or with provider oversite.
• Proficient Computer skills

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri
• Preferred: IV certification in State of Missouri
