Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II for the Health & Wellness Center in Rochester Hills. You will assist physicians, manage patient flow, perform technical procedures, and support lab protocols in a busy outpatient setting.

A 40-hour work week with day shifts is typical, with a $1,000 sign-on for external applicants. Required are an accredited MA program with rotation, a high school diploma, and clearances such as BLS and CMA/RMA/ARMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited MA program with clinical rotation.
  • 6 months MA experience or Beaumont MA internship required.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire; CMA/RMA/ARMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA options within 90 days.
  • Michigan LPN license upon hire required.

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

Under the direction of management and physician leadership, performs and oversees functions related to the clinical activities including, but not limited to: maintains patient flow by assisting and promoting the delivery of primary and preventative health care, performs technical procedures, lab protocols and clinically oriented activities under physician/provider direction. The Medical Assistant II will assist management in achieving office efficiencies in accordance with stated policies/procedures to ensure efficient operations with a focus on supporting physicians, clinic staff and management which embodies the "Service First" philosophy to promote customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Completion of an accredited MA program, including clinical rotation, or equivalent experience
  • 6 months of relevant experience Six (6) months MA work experience or a completed Beaumont MA internship is required. Required
  • Team members may have other MA certifications and hire dates before November 1, 2025
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 30 days from hire Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 30 days from hire required
  • CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA) - AAMA American Association of Medical Assistants within 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Medical Assistant, Registered (RMA) - AMT American Medical Technologists within 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Medical Assistant, American Registry (ARMA) - ARMA American Medical Technologists within 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NCMA) - NCCT National Center for Competency Testing within 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CCMA) - NHA National HealthCareer Association within 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NRCMA) - NAHP National Association for Health Professionals within 90 Days required Or
  • LIC-License Practical Nursing (LPN) - State of Michigan upon hire Required
